Welcome! | Welcome to kindergarten, Kindergarten clipart ...

Hello and welcome!  I am very excited for the 2020 - 2021 school year!  This is my third year teaching at T. S. Morris and tenth year working in education. I earned my Bachelor’s and two Master’s degrees from Eastern Illinois University.  Kindergarten uses Classdojo to communicate with our students’ families.  If you need an invitation to sign up for Classdojo, please email me.  Also, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me.  This is going to be a great school year!

Hello Families and Students,

I have reached most of my students' parents, but if I have not been able contact you, please email me at and include your phone number so I can send you an invitation to Classdojo.

In addition to the daily lessons and packet work, your child can do the following for extra practice:

Everyone should do the following, which does not require technology:

*Read anything you have at home with your child.

*Practice the sight words in your child's binder.  There are 25 words for this quarter.  They are printed and included in your child’s folder.  You can cut them out to use as flashcards or use them as they are...your choice.

*Use the lined paper that is laminated with a dry erase marker to practice writing letters.  A letter sheet is included in the middle section of the folder.

*Practice recognizing letters and stating their sounds

*Practice writing sight words

*Practice counting groups of objects to 5 (you can go higher, if your child already mastered this skill).  You can have your child count almost anything in your home.  A handful of raw noodles, a small amount of rice, a group of toys, a jar of buttons, ANYTHING!

*Practice writing the numbers 0 through 5.
*Using the 100 chart in the folder, point to each number and count to 100.

If your child can get online he or she can use the following for extra practice:

Does your child need to get the wiggles out and get moving?  We use GoNoodle in the classroom. This is a great way to get exercise without leaving the house!  Here is the link:
